A whole new sound…

LiveSpeakrI understand that a speaker system might not be your typical “gear review” gear; however for those of you camping and traveling around you will be glad to hear about the Livespeakr.  I am a fan of music, and one of those people who fears silence – turns out there could be some merit to the ADD generation concept.  So in my trepidation of silence I own a couple of different iPod speaker products and found this one to be great.

First and foremost, I am sad to admit my defeat in the initial set up of the device.  I actually had to go to their website and watch a video for the complete understanding of the design techniques on how to get it in “ready position” for listening (it operates much like a transformer from my childhood – without the robot faces).  After the very informative video  I had it dialed and actually learned a couple of other ways this system can work. The sound is decent…it is not a Bose system (and the affordable price reflects that) but it still puts out a decent sound.

Over the last week I was in between hotels and a rental house that did not have a stereo so the Live Speakr was our sole source of music.  Plus, we had a party in the rental house (why wouldn’t you) and shockingly it worked out GREAT with a rather large gathering of people.  Long and the short, the speakers can reach a respectable decibel level.  Furthermore, the rechargeable battery lasted an amazing amount of time. In all honesty, I wish my cell phone battery would last this long.  It is easy to pack and pretty light weight. I would think a campsite would love this addition as I know I was very happy to have it in my last couple of hotel rooms.

I was weary of the durability of the iPod holder, but mine is still functioning without any problems, which is surprising with my talent of breaking things.  All and all, I would recommend the Livespeakr as a good buy for the price.

Happy listening.
