It would be weird to wheel my way from the garage through the bedroom to my office (I work from home), but for those of you who have a slightly longer commute, consider two-wheel transportation during May, which is Bike-to-Work Month. More specifically, next week is Bike-to-Work Week, and Friday, May 15, is Bike-to-Work Day. Committing to your road bike or cruiser for just one day can help increase environmental awareness. It also provides a good workout, alleviating the gym guilt that hangs over your sedentary self at the office all day. I can’t bike to work, but I can bike to the grocery store when my list isn’t too hefty, and to yoga. In preparation, I’m taking my bike this week for a tune-up and pedal replacement (Henry used one of my pedals as a chew toy). My mode of transport is a black and pink Giant Simple Seven Cruiser. Mine’s a couple of years old, but here’s a pic of their latest model, which truly makes a green statement:
