Clean Pizza

Almost every Friday night Hubby and I have pizza. I love it, because it’s the one time during the week where we both get to unwind and play together in the kitchen. We used to order take out until I realized how cheap and easy pizza is to make at home, not to mention tastes way better! The great thing about making our own pizzas is that we get to make them however we want – I fill mine up with veggies and Hubby keeps it simple! Another great reason I have pizza on Friday night is because I normally have a long run on Saturday mornings and pizza is my number one pre-run dinner!
This past weekend, we created some pretty yummy pizzas! Hubby made our Honey Wheat Crust, and I topped the pizza with our favorites!
My Clean Pizza: Organic BBQ Sauce, grilled tofu,tomatoes,onions,1 small sweet potato, cashews, fresh basil, and goat cheese.

His Plain Boring Pizza: Mozzarella Cheese, Cheddar Cheese,Parmesan Cheese, and Flavored blasted Goldfish. He added the Goldfish for kicks!

In the oven they go, 350 degrees for 5-7 minutes!

Out they came, Hubby was very excited, we hadn’t made pizza in almost 3 weeks!

So was Bosco!

I started with two pieces, but quickly decided on three:)

I made a small side salad to go with my pizza topped with fresh strawberries. Salad is such a nice side dish when having pizza, it give your body the balance it needs!

I love tofu and sweet potatoes on my pizza. It’s a match made in heaven! Can’t wait to take leftovers to work next week! You can eat pizza and be healthy too… it’s all about balance.
My husband and I have a shortcut version of making our own pizza — we buy a frozen cheese pizza and then add our own fresh veggies. It’s an easy (and yummy) way to use up produce before it goes bad.
