Getting that glow.

“Oh my gosh, you’re simply glowing!” I always hear people saying this to pregnant women. And from what I’d heard pre-pregnancy (which turned out to be nowhere near the tip of the gestational iceberg) my nails would get stronger, my hair would get shinier, and my skin would radiate with mom-to-be-ness.
Thanks to the prenatal vitamins, the nail prophecy was fulfilled. Whether you’re pregnant or not, if you suffer from brittle nails, prenatal vitamins do the trick — just be aware of who sees you taking them to avoid the gossip mill. Then there’s my hair, which is somehow drier and at the same time greasier. I didn’t think it was possible to suffer from these two hair ailments simultaneously… lucky me.
Finally, there’s the glow. The Vesuvius-sized blemishes that’ve started popping up in inconspicuous places like the apples of my cheeks and middle of my chin are definitely shiny (yet more grease), but I wouldn’t say they’re giving me that glow. So I’ve taken matters into my own hands, with the help of Benefit. First, I apply their Coralista blush to my cheeks (really any pink-hued blush will do). And the piece de resistance is their magic in a bottle called High Beam. I dab some on each cheekbone, blending it with the blush, for an easy-not-greasy “natural” rosy glow.
