Sometimes You Have to Mix it UP

I can’t believe that I haven’t done any serious running for about 6 weeks now. I ran the Santa Barbara Marathon on December 6th. Instead, I have been enjoying a little break from running  by getting in 5 days of kickboxing. It’s an intense hour of teaching and it always kicks my BUTT!

Not only have I been enjoying kickboxing, but I have also included a new tradition of Friday Yoga! I couldn’t think of a better way to end the week and start the weekend. I wish I could start every morning with yoga, but I’ll take what I can get! I have created the most peaceful set up in my home. I set up my yoga mat right in front of the back window to create an atmosphere of beauty.


I love to light candles to help me relax during my practice (what is it about candles that make everything seem so much more peaceful??). I really appreciate all forms of exercise and I always wish I had more time to incorporate them all! For the next two weeks I am going to mix it up as much as possible until I have to get serious about running.

I have two more weeks and then I start my MARATHON training!
