Taking a Stroll Inside

As a girl who loves the outdoors and taking long walks after a day behind my desk, it can be very frustrating that the sun is down before I get the chance to take an afternoon walk. I always love having that time to unwind after a stressful day of work.
And recently my passion for “walking it off” has another big hurdle – bad weather. When my favorite path looks like this, a brisk walk at dusk while my mind wanders is difficult.
But instead of ditching my “me time” all together, I have decided to take my walks inside. One time I took a slow stroll on the treadmill with a good book.
I know treadmill walking can become tedious and boring, especially if you’re used to the open road. So, option two is Mall Walking. Yes, it’s not just for senior citizens anymore! Mall walking is free, relaxing, gets your body moving and safe!
At first I thought I would be embarrassed to walk around and around the mall like I was on a mission, but no one cared. Say that to yourself the next time you’re reluctant to try a new class at the gym or step up your pace with the stroller – “No One Cares!”
So, the next time you need to get some exercise and the outdoors is not an option – hit up the mall and ask a friend to come with. If no friends are available, grab your mp3 player and zone out or call a friend who lives far away for some catching up.
Your body will be happy to be moving, even if it is inside. Now all you have to do is avoid stopping for a Cinnabon and you’re in business
